IF 2020 proved anything, it’s just how much people value their streaming services when most other versions of entertainment—theaters, concerts, comedy clubs—are shuttered. With people stuck at home, Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Hulu and Apple TV+ got millions of new subscribers. In the worst of times, it was the best of times—for streaming platforms. Now, as all those apps look to the new summer, they have to figure out how to keep all those new watchers around.
